The Urban Community Forum has provided a platform for dialogue and action on issues confronting Northeast Ohio鈥檚 African-American community for 16 years. This year we face critical issues that are local and global and impact us all. To broaden the conversation, the 91国产精品 Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs has partnered with the Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones Commemorative Forum Series seeking to amplify the call for social and political activism in 2012 during this pivotal time in our community and in U. S. history.
The Forum will open with a presentation by Dr. Daniel Coffey of the Ray C. Bliss Institute for Applied Politics at The University of Akron. Ballentine will join a distinguished local panel: Chloe Blankenship, East Technical High School, Shakira Diaz, American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio, Dr. Jason Johnson, Hiram College, Julian Rogers, Cuyahoga County Council, and Meredith Turner, Office of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown. The discussion will be moderated by Natoya Walker-Minor, Office of the Mayor, City of Cleveland and Dr. Ronnie Dunn, 91国产精品. Rev. Stanley Miller, Shaffer Memorial United Methodist Church, will facilitate the 鈥淐all to Action鈥 to conclude the forum.
