91¹ú²ú¾«Æ· and Rascal House Partner to Relocate Landmark Pizzeria to Modern New Facility

New Rascal House to occupy the historic and recently renovated Union Building

CLEVELAND – 91¹ú²ú¾«Æ· and Rascal House Pizza have developed a plan that will relocate the 91¹ú²ú¾«Æ· landmark restaurant to a newly renovated facility on campus, while providing additional space for the University to build its new Center for Health Innovation.

Rascal House will move to the Union Building at 1836 Euclid, where an $18-million renovation project was recently completed to the historic building. There, the restaurant will substantially upgrade its facilities and equipment for better service and efficiency, said Rascal House CEO and founder, Mike Frangos.

"This is a great opportunity to help the university expand and allow the restaurant to improve its operations," Frangos said. "We are excited to enter a new phase in our longstanding relationship with 91¹ú²ú¾«Æ· and enhance our services to a growing campus community."

The new location, scheduled to open in early fall; will include state-of-the-art commercial equipment and new customer amenities aimed at students, such as power outlets for laptops and high-speed Wi-Fi. The building will also become the new corporate headquarters for the five-restaurant chain and catering business.

"Rascal House has been a major part of 91¹ú²ú¾«Æ·â€™s culture for so many years," said Stephanie McHenry, 91¹ú²ú¾«Æ·â€™s vice president for Business Affairs and Finance. "They are one of the University’s longest supporters of athletics and scholarships. It was essential that as the University grows that Rascal House also grows alongside us."

The move will include relocating Peabody’s Concert Club. Details of that move have not yet been finalized.

91¹ú²ú¾«Æ·â€™s Center for Health Innovation is a $45-million project that will house many of the University’s health profession programs, including Cleveland State’s new partnership for Urban Health with the Northeast Ohio Medical University.
