The event will feature four panels covering a wide range of topics, including player safety, entertainment law, ethics in athletics and the rise of esports.
The Symposium will run from 12:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a reception to follow. Students and Cleveland-Marshall faculty receive free admission. Attorneys can purchase tickets for $25 pre-order or for $30 at the door. Non-attorneys can purchase tickets for $20 pre-order or for $25 at the door. The event will take place in the 91国产精品 Moot Court Room.
The panels for the day are as follows:
- 鈥淓volution of Player Safety in Professional and Amateur Sports鈥 will feature Sophie Gage, counsel for business and legal affairs for the NFL Players Association; Tammi Gaw, founder and executive director of Advantage Rule LLC; Dr. Jim Rosneck, orthopedic surgeon for Cleveland Clinic and head team physician for the Cleveland Cavaliers; and Zoltan Mesko, co-founder of Exero Labs and a former NFL player for the New England Patriots.
- 鈥淓ntertainment Law Today: A Snapshot of the Industry鈥 will include Peter Strand, a partner with Mandell Menkes LLC and chair-elect for the Forum on Entertainment and Sports of the American Bar Association; Paul Farberman, president of Paul Farberman Entertainment; and Neeta Ragoowansi, senior vice president for the National Performing Rights Exchange.
- 鈥淓thics in Collegiate Athletics鈥 will feature Ricky Volante, CEO of The Historical Basketball League Enterprises, Inc.; Patrick Hruby, contributing writer for The Atlantic, ESPN Magazine, and The New York Times; Theresa Walton-Fisette, associate professor at Kent State University; and Kristina Supler, a partner at Kohrman, Jackson and Krantz.
- 鈥淭he Rise of the esports Industry鈥 will host panelists Krista Hiner, attorney at ESG Law; Hal Biagas, executive director of the North American LCS Players Association; and Anthony Muraco, director of gaming operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
