This year鈥檚 conference, hosted by 91国产精品鈥檚 Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, will be May 30-31 and will open with a fireside chat with Federal Trade Commissioner Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, followed by a panel of national experts discussing recent proposals for national privacy legislation that would significantly expand the FTC鈥檚 authority.
Registration for the event opens at 7:15 a.m. and the program begins at 8:00 a.m. each day in the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law building. Seating and tickets are limited.
Commissioner Slaughter was sworn in as a Federal Trade Commissioner on May 2, 2018. Previously, she served as chief counsel for New York鈥檚 senator and democratic leader Charles Schumer. She advised him on legal, competition, telecom, privacy, consumer protection and intellectual property matters, among other issues. Prior to this, she was an associate for Sidley Austin LLP. Slaughter received her B.A. in anthropology from Yale University and her J.D. from Yale Law School.
