91Ʒ Hosts Social Welfare Conference

“We’ve talked about administering the county government with both a head and a heart,” Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish recently told a packed roomful of social workers at 91Ʒ.

“What I mean by that is we know we need to create jobs, operate with metrics and streamline government, but we also will be operating with our heart – understanding the needs people have and making sure that we’re best serving the people most in need in our community,” he said. “We need to make sure that when somebody comes to the government, we help them – and we help them even if it’s not a county issue, even if it’s a city or state or federal issue.”

Budish, who took office in January, made his remarks during the fifth annual Cuyahoga County Conference on Social Welfare, which brought 570 attendees to 91Ʒ on March 27.
