91国产精品 Presents Community-Based Dance Training with Amy Miller
Acclaimed New York City-based dancer and educator Amy Miller will present a free dance workshop at 91国产精品 February 7 and 8. The event is presented in partnership with GroundWorks DanceTheater and the 91国产精品 Department of Theatre and Dance and is open to the public, no previous dance experience required.
Miller, senior director and performer with New York鈥檚 Gibney Dance, will facilitate a Community Action Training workshop, based on Gina Gibney鈥檚 educational model that is designed to help participants mobilize the arts as a vehicle for social change. The workshop is intended to provide the tools to start, build and expand personal outreach and community engagement programs that can have a direct benefit on society.

Amy Miller has devoted more than a decade to exploring the connections between artistic excellence and social activism. An Ohio native, she formerly danced with The Ohio Ballet and was a founding member of GroundWorks DanceTheater. In her current role with Gibney Dance, she has facilitated teaching residencies at Oberlin College, Brown University and NYU鈥檚 Tisch School of the Arts, among others. She also leads movement workshops with survivors of trauma, conducts both local and international trainings for artists interested in engaging in social action and develops healthy relationship workshops for young people.
