CLEVELAND — On June 5 Venus will cross the face of the sun in a major astronomical event called the "Transit of Venus" and it will not happen again for 105 years.

91¹ú²ú¾«Æ· is coordinating a free, family-friendly event where participants will have the opportunity to view the Transit of Venus and learn more about our solar system. Professors and experienced astronomers will be on hand to share their knowledge and coordinate activities. Special "solar viewers" will be provided, and large astronomical telescopes will be available to view Saturn, Mars, Mercury, the Moon and the International Space Station.

The Transit of Venus Event takes place at Edgewater State Park, June 5 from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. The Transit of Venus is estimated to begin at 6 p.m. and the telescopes will be used after sunset at 9 p.m.

91¹ú²ú¾«Æ· is partnering with Baldwin-Wallace College, the Cuyahoga Astronomical Association and the Cleveland Astronomical Society on the event.
