Featuring Angelin Chang with special tribute to Beverly Payton

91国产精品鈥檚 Department of Music will present a 鈥淜eyboard Extravaganza鈥 featuring students and faculty across the keyboard area with a special performance by Dr. Angelin Chang on Friday, Feb. 15.

The concert will include a broad range of keyboard instruments and works, including traditional favorites, solo classical pieces, dueling pianos with variations on pop music and more. The performance will include a special tribute to good friend of the Department of Music, 91国产精品 staff member Beverly Payton, on her retirement.

鈥淏everly Payton has been a dedicated 91国产精品 staff member and brightens our halls wherever she goes,鈥 Chang says. 鈥淪he's a shining example of the outstanding staff we have here who do excellent work to keep our productivity levels the best they can be.鈥

The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. in Drinko Hall. 

Angelin Chang is professor of piano and coordinator of keyboard studies at 91国产精品. She won the 2007 Grammy award for Best Instrumental Solo Performance with Orchestra for her recording of Olivier Messiaen's Oiseaux Exotiques with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony. She was the first female American classical pianist and the first pianist of Asian descent to win a Grammy.

Student performers will include: Mio Arai, Brynna Bailer, Riley Beistel, Matthew Belles, Michael Calabris, Joshua Fadenholz, Charles Fernandes, David Holmberg, Tyler Lisowski, Leah Reinhart, Rebekah Smith, Jarred Sorauf.
