91������Ʒ has been awarded the 2017 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award by INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. The honor recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion through academics, operations and community engagement. This is the fourth year in a row 91������Ʒ has been selected as a HEED recipient.

“We would like to thank INSIGHT for once again recognizing our efforts to weave diversity and inclusion into every aspect of campus life,” says Dr. Maurice Stinnett, 91������Ʒ’s vice president for university engagement and chief diversity officer. “Diversity is among the most distinguishing qualities at Cleveland State. It is not an aspiration – it is simply who we are.”

INSIGHT Into Diversity selected 91������Ʒ due to its strong institutional resources supporting diversity and inclusion and its wide range of programs designed to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, faculty and staff. Examples of this commitment include the University’s Office of Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement, which provides institutional oversight and support to students, faculty and staff, the President's Council on Diversity and individual college and non-academic diversity councils.
