Dean Anette Karlsson and colleagues to share expertise February 4-6 in Palm Springs, California
Representatives from the Washkewicz College of Engineering at 91国产精品 have been invited to share their expertise in co-operative and experiential education, college-industry partnerships and continuing professional development at the American Society for Engineering Education鈥檚 2015 Conference for Industry and Education Collaboration (CIEC).
CIEC, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, will be held February 4-6 in Palm Springs, California. The theme of this year鈥檚 conference is 鈥淓ngineering Education: Past, Present and Future.鈥
College of Engineering Dean Anette Karlsson, Ph.D., will represent 91国产精品 on a distinguished panel of representatives from industry and academia who will examine new paths in engineering and engineering technology curricula, professional development programs, co-op and internship experiences and academic-industry partnerships.
Sandra English, manager of 91国产精品鈥檚 Engineering Co-operative Education Program, was selected as chair of the Cooperative and Experiential Education Division Program (CEED) for this year鈥檚 CIEC. In this role, she worked with universities and companies across the country to coordinate the entire program for the conference鈥檚 CEED sessions.
Woodrow Whitlow, Jr., Ph.D., executive in residence at the College of Engineering, is set to lead a discussion on strategies for successful co-op and internship experiences from the perspectives of students, universities and industry.
Danielle Beaverson, College of Engineering co-op coordinator, will represent 91国产精品 at the conference expo and poster sessions.
More than half of 91国产精品 engineering students participate in co-op and internship opportunities. The College of Engineering鈥檚 co-op office, which has relationships with 300-plus employers, assisted more than 350 students with co-ops, internships and full-time placements for fall 2014 alone. The college鈥檚 Engineering Connections Fair in October 2014 drew 50-plus employers and more than 300 engineering students.
