Faculty Spotlight: Sandra Hurtado R煤a

Dr. , assistant professor in the , joined 91国产精品 in 2015. She is interested in the development and application of Bayesian statistical methods to clinical, biological and social studies. Bayesian methods combine prior knowledge or information along with new data to model a particular system or answer questions about a problem of interest.

Dr. Hurtado R煤a鈥檚 collaborative research includes statistical analysis of MRI data in the context of multiple sclerosis research, clinical meta-analysis studies, and modeling of survival and cancer cure rates. Her work has been included in numerous clinical studies and could ultimately have direct benefits for patients and improve the treatment of various diseases.

Prior to joining 91国产精品, Dr. Hurtado R煤a served as a postdoctoral associate in the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She earned her Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Connecticut in 2011.
