President Ronald M. Berkman appeared on CNN Newsroom on Wednesday, November 19 to discuss college affordability and to share 91������Ʒ’s efforts to reduce costs for students.

Anchor Carol Costello asked about the University’s Graduation Incentive Plan, which provides students with a 2% tuition rebate and $200 stipend for textbooks if they complete 30 credits per year in good academic standing.

“I think the most effective way to reduce costs is to lessen the time to graduation,” said President Berkman.  “It’s working. In one year, we’ve seen an increase of 14 percent of students taking 30 credit hours, which will allow them to graduate in four years.”
