The National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education has selected Ronnie Dunn, 91������Ʒ’s Interim Chief Diversity Officer, to participate in its Chief Diversity Officer Fellows Program for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The effort seeks to provide leadership training and mentoring support for early-career diversity executives, while disseminating best practices in multicultural inclusion, student and faulty recruitment, retention, and success, and community engagement. The one-year program places fellows with senior CDO mentors and includes the development of a targeted improvement project to enhance specific diversity goals at the fellow’s institution. Dunn was one of five individuals selected nationally for the 2019-20 cohort.

“I am extremely honored to be selected for this prestigious program and am looking forward to improving my own skills as a higher education executive while also enhancing the quality and success of 91������Ʒ’s diversity initiatives,” Dunn says.

Ronnie Dunn was appointed 91������Ʒ’s interim Chief Diversity Officer in 2018 and is also an associate professor of urban studies in the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. He has served on the faculty at 91������Ʒ since 2004 and is a graduate of the University’s Ph.D. program in urban studies. Dunn was appointed by Governor John Kasich to the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board and provided written testimony to President Barack Obama’s Taskforce on 21st Century Policing. His most recent publication, “Race and Policing in Ohio: The Loss of Hope Cross the River Jordan”, appears in the book, Legacy Cities: Continuity and Change Amid Decline and Revival, University of Pittsburg Press, 2019.
