Attendees at the fall 2014 Urban Universities for HEALTH conference held at 91国产精品 on October 6-7, 2014, were presented with a startling data point during opening remarks from President Ronald Berkman:
Two neighborhoods on the east side of Cleveland鈥擫yndhurst and Hough鈥攁re just several miles apart, yet the difference in life expectancy between their residents is 21 years.
鈥淯nfortunately, there is no more illustrative tapestry of the magnitude of health disparities than here in Cleveland, Ohio,鈥 President Berkman said.
Urban Universities for HEALTH (Health Equity through Alignment, Leadership, and Transformation of the Health Workforce) is working to address and eradicate health-care disparities nationwide.
