Event Will Foster Intergenerational Dialogue on Tuesday, January 21, at Wolstein Center

91������Ʒ and Cuyahoga Community College are teaming up to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a special program from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, at 91������Ʒ’s Wolstein Center, 2000 Prospect Avenue.

Organizers hope to spark intergenerational discussion among attendees, going off the theme: “What’s YOUR Dream?” Wayne Dawson, co-anchor of “Fox 8 News in the Morning,” will serve as master of ceremonies.

“Dreams can be a great starting point for inspiring conversations about our shared future, as Dr. King demonstrated,” said Byron White, 91������Ʒ’s vice president for university engagement and chief diversity officer. “We’ve chosen to host this event the day after the official holiday, in an effort to draw more students. We really want to get people across generations talking about their aspirations for our community and learning from each other.”

The event will feature a dialogue between 91������Ʒ Executive-in-Residence Julian Earls, former director of NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, and motivational speaker Joe Johnson. Shakyra Diaz, policy director for the ACLU of Ohio, will moderate the conversation.

Afterwards, students from 91������Ʒ and Tri-C will join members of the community and other audience members for engaging, small-group discussions about carrying Dr. King’s dream and their own dreams forward.
