Inter-University Council of Presidents Anti-Hazing Principles

The Inter-University Council of Ohio (IUC) was established in 1939 as a voluntary educational association of Ohio's public universities. The IUC represents the 14 public universities of Ohio. 

The Inter-University Council of Presidents adopted Anti-Hazing Principles towards the shared purpose of eradicating hazing at Ohio universities. These principles, including a zero-tolerance for hazing approach can be found by clicking here.

Education & Training

All students who want to join student organizations, student groups, or teams are required to complete 91国产精品's Hazing Prevention Education program. If you are unsure if you already completed training, please contact your RSO advisor or the Center for Campus Engagement at studentorgs@csuohio.edu or 216-523-7450.  

Anti-Hazing Report: Current as of January 1, 2025

Student Organization: Sigma Tau Gamma; Date Charged: 10-30-2019; Date Resolved: 3-20-2020

Description of Findings: Hazing, illegal use of alcoholic beverages, violation of state, federal or local law and endangering health and safety occurred against new members and/or fraternity house guests by existing members of the fraternity.

Sanctions: 

1. Disciplinary probation until April 30, 2021.

2. Chapter members and associate members required to complete hazing education each semester the chapter is on probation.

3. Chapter members and associate members required tocomplete community building, inclusion, bystander intervention, and membership development trainings.

4. Chapter must engage with the Center for Student Involvement (CSI): Including but not limited to, regular check-ins on recruitment processes and progress, updated and maintained rosters, collaborative phone meetings between CSI and Sigma Tau Gamma national headquarters, monthly meeting with CSI staff, and chapter must maintain an active advisor based on description and definition provided to chapter.
