Identifying Courses

• - As courses are in the process of approval and programming, this spreadsheet is the best source for identifying core curriculum courses. The may also be consulted, but only contains courses fully programmed by the registrar's office.
• - This page briefly describes each Inquiry Pathway and will, in the near future, contain the list of courses approved for each Pathway.
• - This spreadsheet lists GenEd08 courses that have not (yet) been re-submitted for the Core Curriculum. The list will be updated dynamically but should be considered 95% accurate for Academic Year 25-26.

Understanding the new Core

• GenEd08-to-Inquiry Core Crosswalk - This page indicates the general mapping of GenEd08 categories onto the new Inquiry Core Categories. Not all courses will perfectly follow this crosswalk, but it is a proper guide to knowing where a GenEd08 course a student already completed would fit if they changed catalog rights.

Key Changes from GenEd08

• Reduction in total credit hours from 39 to 37
• Removal of ALAAME requirement
• Changes to WAC/SPAC
  • Reduction in course requirements from 3 to 2
  • WAC/SPAC courses cannot also be approved for a Core Curriculum category
  • Students are required to complete at least one WAC/SPAC course in their major discipline that is not also a capstone course for the major. Capstone courses can retain WAC/SPAC status and be used to satisfy the second course requirement.
